Arthur Summers Jr.

Arthur Summers, Jr., 76, of Tivoli, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 in Victoria. He was born in Port Lavaca, Texas to his biological parents, William “Buddy” King and Mariah Ethridge on January 11, 1947. Arthur graduated from Austwell/Tivoli High School and Bee County College with an Associates Degree, and worked as a Supervisor for Union Carbide for over 28 years, as well as being the Pastor of Calvary Apostolic Church for over 20 years.

Arthur is preceded in death by his Biological parents; William “Buddy” King and Mariah Ethridge, Adoptive parents; Arthur and Henrietta Etheridge Summers, Sr.; son, Glenn Christopher Summers; sister, Johnnie Harvey; brothers, Eugene Williams, and Carl D. Williams.

Arthur is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janice Owens Summers, whom he married on September 16, 1978; daughters, Shimeca Gould (Zacrah Davis), and Ebony Summers; son, Sean Summers (Nikki); brother, Arthur Ray Williams; grandchildren, Halle Pocaro, Hannah Pocaro, Imani Pollard, and Malachi Gould; great-grandchildren, Honesty Bryant and Cameron Bryant; as well as numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends, all of whom will cherish his memory.

Honoring the wishes of Arthur, a Remembrance Service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023 from 11-1 at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.
