In keeping with Audrey’s wishes, her obituary in the paper was brief, she wrote it herself several years ago, actually reviewed it again this past year when she visited Rosewood ‘to be sure everything was in order’. As she wrote, she is survived by numerous cousins, and I would add, some very good friends – she loved us all dearly, always appreciative of anything and everything done for her. Whether you called to check in with her, sent a card or stopped by to visit, you were loved and appreciated by her. Many times, she would say, I don’t know what I’ve done to deserve these folks, but I couldn’t make it without them. Your love and care for Audrey was appreciated. Audrey’s faith was strong, she knew her Lord and was ready to return home to Him. Her faith was an active one, she lived her life helping others, worshiping her Lord in her service to her church and in her financial support to help others. Her dry humor and wit endeared her to the many caregivers she met in the past few months. If I forget anyone, please know it was accidental, but I’d like to thank these special people who loved Audrey and gave her such good care & visits these past few months – Jean Sitterle, Jill Jennings, Leslyn Boese, JoAnn Yeary, Laura Schulz, Chris Rippamonti, Barbara Stubbs, Lois Eichhorn, Celeste Moreno, Bianca Rojas, & Anna Ramirez, the folks at Sodalis, Stephanie Mitchell, and especially Neydine Stange. Audrey didn’t want to go to a nursing home, she chose Sodalis because her best buddy Neydine was there. Audrey’s love for me was reflected in the love and care her parents gave me as a child, nurturing the foundation of my faith. She was stubborn, we sometimes argued like sisters, and she would tell me, yes Frances I know, but that’s just the way it is right now. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for receiving Audrey back into your arms – that’s just the way it is right now, and it is a very good thing.
