Barbara Ruth Ross Littles was the 4th child born to the late Leslie Ross Sr. and Ruth Ross. She attended Victoria Public Schools and graduated from Victoria High School, class of ’72. She attended college in Kansas City, MO and obtained accreditation in computer programming.
Barbara accepted Christ at an early age uniting with Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and was baptized by the late Rev. F.J. Hobbs. She was a faithful servant of the Lord. She loved her church family and was active in the culinary department and she was also Senior Choir President until her passing. Her love for her family was immeasurable. She would help out anyone. She was full of life, a big talker and an awesome cook. She was so excited on the upcoming opening of “Backwoods Soulfood Café”. A joint venture with her sister, Birdie Ross and nephew Derick Ross. To have known her was to love her.
Barbara worked for Citizens Medical Center for approximately 38 years and retired in 2018.
She leaves to cherish her memory her one and only child, Malcom Littles (Cherie) of Austin, TX; her mother, Ruth Williams Ross; brothers, Bobby Ross, Sr. (Alice), Leo Ross, Sr. (Jo Ann), Alfred Ross all of Victoria, TX; Preston Ross, Sr. (Kim) of Anamosa, IA; sister, Birdie Ross of Victoria, TX; granddaughters, Lailah Nevaeh and Lauren N’Shay Littles of Austin, TX. She also leaves to cherish her memory her aunts, Gladys Williams, Doris Walker and Dorothy Ross and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leslie Ross, Sr.; brother, Leslie Ross, Jr, M.D. and sister Deborah Kaye Ross-Torrey.
A graveside service will be held 9:00 am, Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Resurrection Cemetery with Rev. Fred Hobbs officiating.
