Barbara A. Bruner Schmitt

Barbara A. Schmitt, 60, of Victoria passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011. She was born February 18, 1951, in Victoria to Betty Krehmeier Bruner and the late P. E. Bruner, Jr. She taught in V.I.S.D. for 34 years, mostly at Vickers Elementary. Barbara was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Stephen Schmitt of Victoria; daughters, Amy Wacker and her husband, Blayne, of Sugar Land, and Rachel Schmitt of Austin; son, Brian Schmitt and his wife, Devon, of Richmond; mother, Betty Bruner of Victoria; sister, Patty Leita of Victoria; brother, Jim Bruner and his wife, Debi, of Victoria; grandchildren, Kade and Kaylie Wacker and Brody Schmitt.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Joe Leita.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday, September 9, 2011, at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, September 10, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rev. Barney Matocha and Don Angerstein officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Justin Leita, Clay Bruner, James Herman, Michael Schmitt, James Schmitt, and Gary Schmitt

Honorary Pallbearers will be Anna Kolle, Carrie Mueller, Cheryl Kroos, Sandy Muegge, Mary Scott, and Sandy Serold
