MUSKOGEE, Okla. - Rev. Dr. Benjamin W. Noble, a native of Victoria, graduate of F.W. Gross High School, and a longtime civil rights activist, who for nearly 60 years led Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Muskogee, Okla., died Sunday at the age of 91.
He received his Bachelor of Theology degree from Mary Allen College and did graduate work at Moody Bible College, Northeastern State University and Oklahoma State University.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Jarmon Noble; his parents, and five siblings.
He is survived by his son, Stanford L. Noble (Ann) of Chicago; daughter, Norma Noble of Oklahoma City; and brother, Adolphus Noble of Victoria.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011, at First Baptist Church, 301 N. Glass Street, in Victoria.
