Bertha Martinez Martinez Chapa

Bertha Martinez Chapa, 51, of Placedo passed away January 6, 2011. She was born October 2, 1959, in Victoria to Anita Ortiz Martinez and the late Robert Martinez, Sr. She was employed by the Bloomington Independent School District for 17 years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Pete Chapa, Sr. of Placedo; her mother, Anita Ortiz Martinez of Placedo; children, Peter Chapa, Jr. of Placedo, Robert Chapa (Marianela Chapa) of Bloomington, Noel Chapa (Gina Chapa) of Victoria, Jessica Arias (Jhon Arias) of Placedo, Marcos Chapa of Placedo, Vincent Chapa (Sarah Chapa) of San Antonio, and Nicko Chapa (Karen Ramirez) of Victoria; brothers and sisters, Julia Robles, Gloria Santibanes, Robert Martinez, Jr., Albert Martinez, Sr. and Jojo Martinez; 14 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:00-9:00 pm Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 pm on Sunday, January 9, 2011, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bloomington. A Rosary will follow at 7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Monday, January 10, 2011, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at San Jose Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Pete Chapa, Jr., Robert Chapa, Noel Chapa, Marcos Chapa, Vincent Chapa, Nicko Chapa, Jhon Arias, Jaime Chapa and Dylan Chapa.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Martinez, Jr., Albert Martinez, Sr. and Jojo Martinez.

Floral committee members will be Victoria Arias, April Chapa, Kathleen Arias and Zoe Chapa.
