

Jess William Busby, known as Bill Busby to his friends and family, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2011. He was born on September 8, 1924 in Carl Junction, MO to Perry E. Busby and Maude Bandy Busby.
Bill served proudly in the US Navy during WWII in both the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans on the naval destroyer escort USS Stern. Following his discharge Bill and Juanita moved to Victoria where he worked for DuPont for 35 years as an operator and supervisor.
Mr. Busby is survived by his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Juanita Dent Busby; his son, James William Busby and wife, Debbe Busby; daughter, Carla Busby Rodriguez and husband, Damaso; his brother, Perry Elton Busby, Jr. and his grandchildren, Heather Busby, Jared Busby and wife, Ashley and Shannon Busby.
In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his two brothers, Robert and Russell Busby.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2011 from 6-7:30 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Graveside services will be 1 pm on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Nick Stewart officiating with military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Hoover, Roy Swanson, Bill Evans, Robert R. Martin, Carl DuBose and Joe Kozelski.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victoria Ballet Theatre, 2508 E. Mockingbird, Victoria, TX 77904.
