

Charles Henry Argast of Victoria passed away at home on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, a day before his 83rd birthday. He was born June 30, 1928, to the late Henry Charles Argast and Marie Biehl Argast in St. Louis, MO. Charlie was a graduate of Westminster College, Fulton, MO having graduated in January 1951. Charlie was retired from Union Carbide [DOW] where he worked for 30 years. He was honorably discharged from the Navy after 4 years of service from 1951 to 1955. Charlie was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church. He served as an Elder on the Session of both First Presbyterian Church and Grace Presbyterian Church in Victoria as well as several Presbyterian churches within the U.S. He loved his time serving as Sunday School Superintendent. During his retirement he delivered meals for seniors, served on SCORE, and was a volunteer chaplain at Citizens Hospital. He also gave of his time to Habitat, Christ’s Kitchen, Tax-Aide, and the Cancer Society.
Charlie is survived by his daughters, Karen Watts of McKinney, and Sharon Lawrence of Millsboro, DE; sons-in-law, Dennis Watts and Theo Lawrence; grandchildren, Amy Lawrence, Ben and Nikki Watts, Matt Lawrence, Adam Watts, and Sara Lawrence; great-grandchildren, Gabby Watts and Eli Watts.
He was preceded in death by his dear wife of almost 50 years, Joline Bressie Argast.
Memorial services will be held at 11am at Grace Presbyterian Church on Friday, July 1, 2011.
