Charles Henry Thiele

Funeral services for Charles Henry Thiele, 83, of Temple, formerly of Victoria, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Chris Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Thiele passed away January 1, 2013, at Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple. Son of Louis and Lilly Thiele, he was born September 16, 1929, in Bishop. He married Gloria Schneider February 3, 1963, in Edna. They were blessed with two children, Melissa and Christopher. Mr. Thiele worked for Union Carbide as a machinist for 32 years. His friends at work called him Charlie. He was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Victoria where he served as an elder, trustee, Sunday School Superintendent, usher, and financial secretary. He enjoyed gardening and hunting.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Thiele of Temple; daughter, Melissa Hamilton and her husband, Davis of Harker Heights; son, Christopher Thiele and his wife, Christina of Austin; brothers, Louis Thiele and sister-in-law, Olivia of Kerrville, and Robert Thiele and sister-in-law, Annette of Katy; sister-in-law, Beverly Catalina and her husband, Milton of College Station; and granddaughter, Nicole Hamilton and grandsons, Jacob and Preston Thiele.

Visitation will be Friday, January 4, 2013, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Rosewood Funeral Chapel in Victoria.
