Charlie Newman

Charlie Dean Newman, 82, of Victoria passed away after a long illness, April 2, 2016. He was born in Mercedes, Texas, March 21, 1934 to the late Charlie S. and Bessie Lee Newman. Mr. Newman was retired from DuPont as an operator after 29 years of service. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nelva Myers Newman of Victoria; daughters, Cheryl Henson and Carrie Dominey of Victoria; son, Curtis Newman of League City; and four grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

The family will receive friends Monday April 4, 2016 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels from 6 to 8 PM.

Graveside services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the Resurrection Cemetery with full military honors under the direction of Victoria Veterans Council.

Pallbearers will be Gavin and Chad Myers, Brandon Dominey, Chuck Fisher and Justin and Curtis Newman.
