Delaphine "Tootie" Hassler Hanselka

Delaphine “ Tootie “ Hanselka, 81, of Victoria was called to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 surrounded by her family and friends. She was born November 2, 1929 in Fayette County, Tx to the late Henry O. Hassler and Hedwig Bartling Hassler. She married Alvin R. “Babe” Hanselka on January 6, 1948. They raised their three daughters in Dacosta.

Tootie worked for over 33 years for Union Carbide in the Food Service Division. She worked as a receptionist for over 10 years at Colonial Funeral Home. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church where she served as President of the Altar Society. Tootie served as an Election Judge for Victoria County and held various offices for the Dacosta Volunteer Fire Department. Tootie cherished her days when she was surrounded by family and friends, gardening, canning or cooking one of her “famous” dishes. Tootie was known for her jovial spirit and giving heart.

She is survived by her daughters, Lynette “Susie” Jackson, Janice Cavazos and husband Zeke, Donna Shafer; grandchildren, Gene Boerm, Jr and wife Tanya, Kim Ross and husband Leo, Natalie Gingrich and husband Jess, Roxanne Richard and husband Eric, Tenille Adamcik and husband Kyle; great grandchildren, Hunter, Cameron, Coewin and Caedyn Boerm; Trey and Tyler Ross; Trent and Natalie Richard; Grant and Caityn Adamcik; Emery and Zachary Gingrich.

Preceded in death by parents; husband; sisters, Pearlie Olivares, Esther Schneider and brothers, Otto, Freddie and Floyd Hassler.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, Thursday, May 19, 2011. A rosary will follow at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 10 am at St. Patricks Catholic Church, Bloomington, TX. Father George Henninger will officiate. Burial will follow at Shillerville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Zeke Cavazos, Kyle Adamcik, Hunter Boerm, Cameron Boerm, Trey Ross, Jess Gingrich, Marvin Kucera and Dennis Lala.
