I was doing some “Spring” cleaning and came across some of my early drafting notes and decided to look up & reconnect with my favorite teacher, Mr. Schulz.  I regret that I missed the opportunity and did not get to attend his funeral. My heartfelt condolences to your family. He was an extraordinary teacher and mentor with a truly kind heart. His encouragement and belief in his students inspired me to persevere through my challenges and always give my best. His impact reached far beyond the classroom, and his legacy will live on in the many lives he touched. He went out of the way to make sure that I had the opportunity to succeed, reaching out to my parents, offering to pay for supplies, and even provided the material for my woodworking project when there is no way I could afford it. He guided me in making the planter & gave me a picture of it when he set it up in his yard. I was so proud and beyond myself that I could build something so nice. Now I am blessed with the opportunity to be a blessing to students as well, first as a teacher, now a principal. The impression he made in my life helped pave the way. May you find comfort in knowing how deeply he was admired, appreciated, and loved.

I took drafting with Mr. Schulz in High School.  He set me on my career path starting at 14 years old.  His dedication to teaching is hard if not impossible to find, and I still use these skills today over forty years later.  The foundation to visualize and create has helped me through degrees in engineering and business, then on to my own ventures.  I fondly remember the Texas State drafting competitions and still have my ribbons, drafting kit and even some drawings.  I can count on one hand the teachers and professors I truly remember, and he is on that hand.  He will be missed by many.  Thank you, Mr. Schultz.

I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Schulz passing. He was my drafting teacher at Victoria High. I had him for several classes and was also part of the Industrial Arts Club. It would have been my honor to have been able to share with his family in person what he meant to me as a teacher. He was encouraging and soft spoken, yet he controlled his classroom and was respected because his students knew he meant business. I loved art and he encouraged me on how I could  bring that into drafting, which meant a lot to me. I even did a piece of art for him and he told me he had put it on his fireplace. That’s the kind of caring teacher that made him my favorite  of all.  My heart smiles when I think of him, even after all these years.  My condolences to the family.

I was very sad to hear about Mr. Schulz death from my mom yesterday.  Sorry I was not able to attend the funeral.  I had Mr. Schulz for a Drafting teacher from 6th-11th grades (Crain JH and Victoria HS).  I was one of his best students.  He was more than just a teacher to me but also a good friend.  I wished I had connected back with him since 1975, but I was not living in Victoria any longer.

I was a teacher with Del at Victoria High School. He taught my son for 3 years and was an outstanding instructor. He opened his classroom at 7:30 so kids could get more credits in a year. He spent many hours with contest prep and taking them to shows. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. RIP dear friend.

My sincere condolences to the family. Mr. Schulz was a huge contributor to my profession in Architecture. I took all of his drafting courses at VHS as part of Class 1980. His encouragement and patience will always be in my heart and I hope that he will see my past experiences and be proud of how he kept me focused and determined to achieve my dreams. Thank you Mr. Schulz.  You will never be forgotten for your friendship and leadership.

I just read in our local  newspaper of Delmuth's passing.
My condolences to the family.
I was a student of his in the 60's in  Edna, Texas.
He taught drafting and wood shop and was a  very respected teacher at the high school.
Delmuth is one of the teachers that I fondly remember when I think of my high school and college days.

How fortunate we are to have known Mr. Schulz! He was such a kind and generous man who always had a smile on his face and left a positive impact on those around him. My heart breaks for your loss, but take comfort in all the wonderful memories and love you shared with him. His legacy will live on through each of you!
