Born on February 4, 1941, in Victoria, Texas, Dolores dedicated her life to caring for others. She was a talented beautician, a flower shop owner, and lovingly cared for many throughout her years. She was known for her kindness, compassion, and generous heart.
A devoted Catholic, Dolores was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Victory, active in her church, and a member of the Legion of Mary for 12 years, participating for 21 years. She was a founding member of the Cenacle of Divine Mercy and Most Holy Rosary in Victoria, a cenacle of the Marian Movement of Priests. She also participated in the Mother of Compassion and Love prayer group in Austin with Janie Garza for many years, was a member of the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary and participated in the Monday night prayer group. She hosted in her home and directed Lenten prayer groups and Rosary crusades. She was a member of the Incarnate Word Prayer Group and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Prayer Group. She was an associate member of the Missionary of Sacred Hearts. She was an Induced Promoter for 13 years for the Alliance of the Holy Family International and was responsible for the enthronement of the Two Hearts for many families and homes in the Victoria area. For eight years, she was in the Third Order of the AHFI. Her faith, love, and service to others will be remembered by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucielle “Cruz” Hernandez and Moses Hernandez; her daughter, Donna Cortinas; her sisters, Connie Hernandez and Eva Mendieta (Robert); and her brothers, Gus, Adam, Carlos, Edward, Fausto, and Alfonso Hernandez.
She is survived by her son, Donald Cortinas (Meaghan); grandchildren, Cordero Cortinas (Donna) and Ashley Potcinske; sisters, Lucy Zamora (Ray) and Angie DeLaO; and many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at The Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory, 1309 E Mesquite Ln on June 27, 2026 at 9 am and a rosary to be recited at 9:30 am. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 am
Burial and graveside services will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Donald Cortinas, Devin Cortinas, Cordero Cortinas, Adam Hernandez Jr., Michael Hernandez, Tali Villafranca and Robert Allen Quinonez.
Dolores leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and caring. She will be deeply missed.
