Dominga V. Garcia

Dominga V. Garcia, 85, of Victoria passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014. She was born October 14, 1928, in Edroy, Texas, to the late Monico B. and Dominga Benavides Villarreal. She was a loving mother and Granny who loved working in her yard.

Survivors include her children, Dora Ann DeLa Garza and Joe Daniel Garcia, both of Victoria, Ida Jean Bates of Dallas and Yvonne Garcia of Victoria; sister, Janie V. Guerrero of Victoria; grandsons, Joe Victor Garcia of Victoria, Joe Simon Garcia of Houston, Michael Daniel Garcia of Victoria, Steven Randall Bates II, Stanley Robert Bates and Shane Ryan Bates, all of Dallas, and Sylvester Conrad DeLa Garza, Jr. of Victoria; granddaughters, Sylvia Christine DeLaGarza and Kirsten Taylor Click, both of Victoria; great-grandchildren, Silina, Kaylee, Tori Rose, Savannah, Sara, Brandon, Nicholas, Steven III, Shelby, Ryleigh and Pari; and great great-grandchild Adriel Hernandez.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jose (Meno) Garcia; brothers, Monico B. Villarreal and Simon B. Villarreal; sisters, Delores Diamond and Georgia Orton; daughter, Mary Yolanda Garcia; and son, Hector V. Garcia.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, June 16, 2014, at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral, Rev. Gary Janak officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Steven R. Bates II, Stanley R. Bates, Shane R. Bates, Michael D. Garcia, Joe Victor Garcia and Sylvester C. DeLa Garza, Jr.
