Domingo C. Alvarez

Domingo C. Alvarez, 88, passed away Friday, October 24, 214 at his home in Victoria, Texas where he was born and raised. Domingo was born on August 26, 1926 to Therso Alvarez and Trinidad Chavez Alvarez. Domingo was a retired truck driver and a beloved son, husband, father, great grandfather and a great man who touched so many hearts. He is preceded in death by both his parents, seven brothers; sons, Raymond Menchaca, Sr., Domingo Alvarez, Jr; daughter, Mary Isabel Salinas; beloved wife of 55 years, Mary C. Alvarez. Domingo’s memory will live on through his surviving children, son, Frank Castro, Albert Alvarez, Guadalupe Alvarez; daughters, Mary Ann Alvarez, Linda Alvarez, Tiffany Morin and Esmeralda Alvarez; 25 grandchildren; 47 great grandkids; 10 great-great grandkids; 1 great great-great grandchild, along with other family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 5-7 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels with a rosary to be recited at 7 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 9 AM on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Burial with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans council will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Rudolfo Alvarez, Jr., Isaac Zuniga, Johnny Lopez, Jr., Raymond Menchaca, Jr., Michael Alvarez and Roy Alvarez, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are Vincent Alvarez, Javier Lopez, Johnny Lopez, Sr., Richard Macias, Rudolfo Alvarez, Sr. and Carlos Tzul.
