Doris M. McCord

Doris’ greatest accomplishment was her six children, whom she devoted her time and energy to when they were growing up.

Doris was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she a member of the Altar Society and the Christian Mothers.

She is survived by her children Allan McCord, Rex McCord (Eileen), Dwayne McCord (Dawn), Linda Simmons, and Diane McCord; daughter-in-law Nancy McCord; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. In 2018, her beloved husband William B. “Ben” McCord passed away. She is also preceded in death by her parents, her son Earl McCord, her brothers Louis Garvel and Edward Garvel, her sister Bertha Kabela, and her son-in-law James Simmons.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Inez, beginning at 10 am. A rosary will be recited at 10:30, and the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM. Doris will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Shelby McCord (Great-granddaughter), Christopher McCord (Grandson), Allan McCord, Jr. (Grandson), Sean McCord (Grandson), Todd McGarity (Grandson-in-law), and Ty Perman (Grandson-in-law).
