Dorothy Jane Dornak went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 26, 2013, after a long illness. Born in St. John, TX on Valentine’s Day, 1924, to the late Charles and Janie Peters, Dorothy grew up in Midfield, TX. She married her late husband, Steve, in 1944 and settled in Victoria in 1948. After that she enjoyed doing alterations, baking her delicious kolaches for the annual Victoria Czech Fest and many other occasions, and was known for her chicken salad sandwiches, cakes, and pies served at the KC bingos. Over the years, she was active in the OLV Altar Society, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and was a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters – Court St. Ann.
Dorothy is predeceased by her parents, her husband Steve J. Dornak, and sister Martha Marek. She is survived by her sister, Henrietta Bram of Danevang, sons, Steve and wife Jodie of Houston, Tommy and wife Cathy of Victoria, Mary Jane and husband Bill Florez of Houston, and Charlene and husband Charles “Bobby” Stevens of Victoria.
