As a firm believer in Jesus Christ as the risen Savior, she now rests in eternal peace with the Father.
Dru was the beloved wife of Leroy Bures, whom she married on September 24, 1966. After moving around for Leroy’s military career, they settled in Victoria, and their love brought them three children.
Through the years, she was known for enjoying her career in the dental field and immersed herself in enjoying the beautiful earth God created by traveling, going on cruises, and admiring God’s work. She was the matriarch of the family and valued her role as wife, mother, and Meme with high regard. Nothing was more important to her than her family, aside from her relationship with Jesus, and she made sure that they all felt His love through her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jerry John Novosad; mother, Evelyn Schluter; brother, Jerry Wayne Novosad; a special Aunt Alice Maffei; and close cousin, Joseph Maffei III.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Leroy Bures; their children Heather Ganem, Todd Bures (Tracy), and Kendra Bures; cousins Connie Maffei, Tommy Maffei, and Jenna Maffei; grandchildren Kayla de Luna (Nick), Devin Mahoney, Todd Bures Jr., and Zoe Bures; great-grandchildren Nathan, Emelia, Matthew, Beck, Vance, Callen, and Nolan de Luna, as well as Tanner and Elora Bures.
Dru loved her Parkway Church family and enjoyed serving others through various church ministries over the years. She dedicated her time to serving children at her church home and at church camps and, in later years, committed herself to being a smiling face, greeting church attendees on Sunday mornings.
To know her was to know Jesus. Her family will miss her deeply, and no words can describe the lasting impression she made on those in her life.
Alzheimer’s may have taken her body, but Jesus has her soul–and because of that, she will rest in eternal sunshine with Jesus forever.
Visitation will be held at Rosewood Funeral Chapel, located at 3304 E Mockingbird Lane, on September 24th, 2026, from 5 p.m.- 7 p.m.
The service will be held at Parkway Church Victoria, located at 4802 John Stockbauer Dr., on September 25, 2026, at 10 a.m.
Graveside will promptly follow the service by procession to Memory Gardens located at 8919 US-87
