I havent known Mr Gandy for very long, only a few short years. He was a quiet man, a man of few words, at least that is how he was when I knew him. He was so kind and it was his mission to always make the holidays fun for his little grandkids. I was blessed to sit with him one Easter Sunday, when he had little gifts for all the kids. Each child went to him in turn and he gave them their gift and a big hug. I've never seen a bigger smile than that day. Last year I gave him a birthday gift, which included a big bag of Hershey's Kisses. I swear he blushed when everyone teased him about me giving him chocolate kisses. We were both tickled. I had the opportunity to visit him before he went into the hospital the last time, and we talked about Christmas coming, and he was excited at the prospect of seeing all his grandkids. He loved those kids with all his heart. I'm fortunate to be able to say I was friends with Mr Gandy. He was a special man and I will miss him. My condolences and prayers to his entire family, including my dear friend, Susan Hart.

Oh all the days and nights spent at y'alls house with Susan. All the gatherings our families had together. Jean and you were so nice. My heart goes out to Susan and Jason at this time along with the rest of the family.

I remember, fondly, playing 'split' with Earl Gene and Otto for hours on end when I was visiting my dad, Mac Gandy, Russell's brother. Aunt Laura could cook so wonderfully. John Wayne and I spent a lot of time at their house in the summertime. I use to love to watch Sybil and Wallace (I think) jitterbug. I also got to go to midnight movies with them. They made me feel so grown up!! I live in Colorado and have for 40 years. I would love to reconnect with anyone that would like to. 1545 E 12th St, Rifle, CO 81650. I text, FB, Instagram and tweet as well. Love allways
