November 2, 1914 – September 26, 2010
Edgar Braeuer, 95, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010. He left this world to join his beloved wife of almost 72 years. Since her passing just over 3 years ago, he has longed for the day they could again join and spend eternity together. One was not whole without the other. They were so well known locally having spent over 70 years in Victoria, and folks have fond memories of them walking hand in hand.
Edgar was an excellent craftsman, and people all over town still comment on the quality homes he built. Just recently while waiting at the lab, a lady commented that they did not even leave for hurricanes because their home was so well built. And Edgar just loved to garden. Even after working hard all day, he would head over to his “shop” building to work in his garden. He just loved to grow vegetables, and many friends and neighbors enjoyed fresh vegetables since he always grew more than they needed for themselves. Edgar and Ellie just loved to dance. They were charter members of the Polka and Waltz dance club, and belonged to the Victoria dance club and the Western dance club as well.
Edgar was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ellenora (Sauermilch) Braeuer, his oldest son, Kenneth Ray Braeuer Sr. and grandson, Kyle of Fredericksburg. Surviving him are sons Don & his wife, Yvonne of Austin, A.J. & his wife Debbie of Fredericksburg; grandchildren Kenneth Ray Braeuer & his wife Maria, Kristina Peacock, Keith Braeuer & his wife Brenda, Michelle Seymour & her husband Joel, Mike Braeuer & his wife Christin, and 5 great grandchildren.
