Elaine Ruth Thurman, 83, of Victoria, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 3, 2025. Elaine was born April 16, 1942, in La Grange, Texas, to the late Edna Oltmann and Emil Tramp. She worked as an office manager for her husband’s company for many years, Jan Thurman State Farm Agency. Elaine was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, where she was very active and involved in most every group throughout the years. She loved to dance, and at one time Elaine and Jan were members of The Victoria Square Dance Club and were regular members of Dacosta Western Dance Club.
She is survived by her children, Rhonda Thurman of Houston, Mitchell Thurman of Victoria; granddaughter, Hailey Thurman; brother-in-law, G.R. Thurman (Twila) of La Grange, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elaine is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jan Thurman, and sister, Dolores Hrncir.
Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 4-6 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Debt Retirement Fund.
