Elizabeth Williams Franklin Lott, affectionately known as “Kidd”, began her life’s journey on August 27, 1927 in Goliad, Texas. She was the 9th of 11 children born to the late Robert and Viola Moore Williams.
She accepted and professed her love of Jesus Christ as her savior at an early age and united with Minnehulla Baptist Church in Goliad, Texas, where she was a deaconess, a member of the usher board and sang in the church choir. She remained a faithful member until her death.
Her elementary and high school years were spent in the segregated schools of Goliad, Texas. She won numerous spelling bees as an elementary student, was a high school cheerleader and participated in sports (basketball). She was a housewife and loving mother to 12 children.
She was united in holy matrimony to Earl Lott on January 4, 1984.
Among her most significant attributes were her kind and compassionate nature, sweet spirit, gorgeous smile and timeless beauty. She loved music and loved to laugh. She was a supportive and loyal woman and an inspiration. Her greatest joys in life were her family and friends. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother and grandmother, a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
She entered into eternal rest on May 28, 2014, with her family by her side.
She leaves to cherish her memories 1 daughter, Margaret Fillmore of Victoria, Texas; 9 sons: Stanley Franklin of Victoria, Texas; William Franklin (Debbie) of Victoria, Texas; Carl Franklin of San Antonio, Texas; Kerry Donovan Franklin of Victoria, Texas; Dwayne Franklin (Tommie) of Victoria, Texas; Marvin Franklin (Pat) of Victoria, Texas; Mike Franklin of San Antonio, Texas; Gerald Franklin of Victoria, Texas; John Franklin of Victoria, Texas; 1 brother, Eugene Williams of Victoria, Texas; 34 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a host of loving nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl Lott; son, Steve “Bubba” Franklin; daughter, Carolyn Jean McMillan; sisters, Lilly V. Williams, Otha Lee Bess, Sylvia “ Baby Doe” Bess, Bessie Mae Franklin, Clorenza “Teenie” Williams and Rosie Lee “Nanny” Littles; brothers, Clemon Williams, Willie Harold Williams and Steve Williams.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 6, 2014, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Minnehulla Baptist Church, Dr. Ira Antoine, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Sapenter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nine surviving sons. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.
