Mrs. Elsie L. Christensen

Elsie L. Hutson Christensen, 85, of Danevang, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014. She was born on June 18, 1928 to the late Glen William and Ester Knudsen Hutson. Elsie was a retired postal clerk at the Danevang Post Office and was a member of the Danevang Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Christensen’s favorite hobbies were storytelling, painting and whistling, she also had a love of history.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Oscar V. “Mickey” Christensen; daughters, Glenda (Lynn) Kurten of Bryan, Cathy (David) Dybala of Victoria, Janet (Mark) Lesak of Victoria; son, Kenny (Anita) Christensen of Danevang;eight grandchildren, Kristen (Chad) Eixmann, Amanda (Kevin) Nash, Chloe Christensen, Clarissa Christensen, Jeffrey (Nicole) Dybala, Jamie Dybala and fiancee Brett Hrabovsky, Meagan Lesak, Chad Lesak and four great grandchildren, Caleb Eixmann, Hattie Nash, Madyson Dybala and Mavrick Dybala.

A viewing will take place on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 6:00- 9:00 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels in Victoria. Viewing will continue at noon on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Danevang Lutheran Church, 357 CR 426 with a visitation from 1:00-2:00 PM and the funeral service to begin at 2 PM with Pastor Robert Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Danevang Lutheran Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Community Hall.

Pallbearers will be Chad Lesak, Chad Eixmann, Brett Hrabovsky, Kevin Nash, Darryl Petersen and Jeff Dybala.
