Emily met the Love of her life when she was 16 years old, and she and Daniel were married on December 1, 1962, and were together until his death 55 years later. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, whom family meant everything to. Emily started her professional career as a banker, took time off to raise her children, and went back into banking until she retired in 1999.
While raising her children, she was an active member of the various Booster Clubs, helping out wherever she was needed. In retirement, you would find her with her grandsons supporting their ballgames, track meets, and marching contests. Home is where the heart is, and the heart of Emily’s home was her kitchen. She was always cooking and baking for family and friends, and will forever be known as The Cookie Grandma, as there were always homemade cookies after every game one of her grandsons played.
Emily is survived by her daughter, Denise Warzecha; her daughter and son-in-law, Danielle and Louis Martinez; grandson, Will Maraggia; grandson and his wife, Mason and Jenna Maraggia; her cousins, who were like sisters, Diane Kneupper and Jennifer Henry; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Griffin; and sister-in-law, Florence Green, and her husband, Bob. Although she was an only child, marriage brought her 20 nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
Emily was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Warzecha; an infant son; and her mother, Alice Ganem.
