

Emmie Dollie Akin, 85, of Bloomington passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017. She was born May 26, 1932 in Lamesa, TX to Arthur and Melissa Huffman Wright. Emmie was a homemaker and enjoyed the hobbies of sewing, painting, sketching, shopping, cooking and attending garage sales.
She is survived by her loving husband, James Edward “Ed” Akin; daughter-in-law, Deanna Koster and son-in-law Martin of Cedar Park; grandchildren Dustin Akin and his wife, Sarah of Leander, TX, Derek Koster and Daylon Koster of Cedar Park, TX, Deondra Goodman and her husband, Daniel Goodman of Hewitt, TX; great grandsons Gunnar and Grayden Akin of Leander, TX.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Akin is preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Kay Akin; son, Steven Ray Akin; three sisters, Retha Wright, Rena Wright and Tina Wright; and seven brothers, Vernon, Cecil, Houston, Homer, Jimmy, A. J. and Sidney Wright.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 10 AM at the First Baptist Church in Bloomington the funeral service to begin at 11 AM with Rev. Marcos Gohlke officiating. Interment will follow in Crescent Valley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dustin Akin, Derek Koster, Daylon Koster, Daniel Goodman and nephews, Cecil Ray Wright and Larry Wright. Torrence Simmons will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Breast Cancer Research, Leukemia Foundation or a hospice.
