Estela Maria Longoria English, 92, was born February 12, 1934, in Thomaston, Texas, and died June 13, 2026. A longtime resident of Victoria, Texas, Estela lived with a steady grace and quiet strength that were felt most deeply by those who knew and loved her.
Estela dedicated her entire professional career to the allied health field. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, she played an important role in patient care and assisted with numerous surgical procedures throughout her career. Her greatest passion was working in obstetrics, where she not only cared for patients but also devoted herself to mentoring and training fellow nurses. Estela took great pride in the profession and found joy in sharing her knowledge, experiences, and dedication to the nursing field with others.
Visitation will be held at Rosewood Funeral Chapel, Regency Chapel, 3304 E. Mockingbird Lane, Victoria, Texas 77904, on June 24, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Funeral Service will follow at Rosewood Funeral Chapel, Regency Chapel, 3304 E. Mockingbird Lane, Victoria, Texas 77904, on June 24, 2026, at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery, 2nd Street, Cuero, Texas 77954, on June 24, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
Estela was preceded in death by her husband, James Allen English; her father, Julio L. Longoria; her mother, Hilaria Webb Longoria; her first husband and the father of her children, Victor Martinez Vasquez; and her second husband, Jerry Godfrey Prokop. She was also preceded in death by, Rev. Esther V. Gonzales (daughter); Herlinda Hernandez Longoria (sister); Elvira Longoria Gonzales (sister); Gilbert Gonzales (brother-in-law); Andrew Galindo, Jr. (brother-in-law); Julio Webb Longoria, Jr. (brother); Ida Longoria (sister-in-law); Ben Webb Longoria (brother); Robert Webb Longoria (brother); Juanita Longoria (sister-in-law); Margaret Longoria (sister-in-law).
Estela is survived by her children, Mary Jane Vasquez Quintanilla (Rey), Victor Longoria Vasquez (Elayne), and Joe Longoria Vasquez; her brother, Manuel Webb Longoria; her sister, Lydia Galindo; her sister-in-law, Dora Longoria. Estela is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and extended family members who will forever cherish her memory and the love she shared.
Honoring her by serving as Pallbearers will be Victor Vasquez, Jr., Leon Hernandez, Gerald (Jerry) Clark, Michael Longoria, Tommy Hernandez, and Jeremiah Vasquez.
Estela will be remembered with enduring respect and affection—for the dignity she carried, the care she gave, and the lasting imprint of a life devoted to others.
