Esther P. Medrano

Esther P. Medrano, 83, of Victoria passed away Friday, March 13, 2015. She was born October 31, 1931, in Progresso, Texas, to the late B. O. and Mary Rhodes Perez. She was a Social Worker, Activity Director and Ombudsman for nursing homes, and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Valdez ; daughters, Teresa Vasquez of Victoria, Mary Aragon of Houston and Maggie Hairell of Dickinson; sons, Patrick Medrano and Mike Medrano, both of Victoria; sisters, Mabel Zamudio and Beatrice Perez, both of Corpus Christi; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe G. Medrano, and a daughter, Benita Mahan.

Visitation will be at 6:00 pm Monday, March 16, 2015, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Rev. Jasper Liggio officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
