Gene Vance, 84, 0f Victoria passed away on December 9, 2010. He was born August 31, 1926 in San Antonio, Texas to Bertha and Arthur Vance. He joined the U.S. Navy on January 23, 1942 at the age of 15. After discharge from the Navy he went to work for Sears Roebuck. Gene retired from Sears October 31, 1984 after 38 years. He became a realtor in 1989, working for Cornerstone Properties until retirement in 2004.
Gene is survived by his daughter, Lisa Keag and husband, David of Houston; sons, Gene and wife, Lorraine of Allen; sister, Helen Fisher and husband, Richard of Greenville and Elaine Vance. He is also survived by six grandchildren; Skylar Byers, Jordan Rosinski, Kelly Aldis, Leslie Soucek, Lauren Belk, Colin Keag and Spenser Vance; and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
