Evelyn Essie Malik, 81, formerly of Port Lavaca, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012. She was born January 7, 1931, in Gonzales to the late Essie Lou Mitchell Winkins and Clarence Wesley Winkins. She was a Jehovah’s Witness, and is resting in peace awaiting the Resurrection.
Evelyn is survived by her three daughters, Darlene Kirby of Brandon, Mississippi, Angele Blackburn of Victoria, and Lisa Awalt of Victoria; sister, Audrey Irle of Gonzales; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, August Frank Malik, and a daughter, Karen Dianne Dominy.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Friday, December 14, 2012, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Graveside services will be at 10 am Saturday, December 15, 2012, at the Old Gonzales Cemetery in Gonzales. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm Saturday at the Victoria Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
