Frank E. Hermes

Frank E. Hermes, 89, of Victoria, passed away July 1, 2016. He was born at home on June 17, 1927 in Korth, TX to the late Steve and Mary Huhlefeld Hermes. Frank graduated from St. Joseph High School in Yoakum, TX and proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Euna Brunet on June 27, 1953 in Victoria. Frank retired from Alcoa after many years of service.

Frank is survived by his children, Frank E. Hermes, Jr. and wife Theresa of Inez, Howard Jerome Hermes and wife Kathleen of Edna, Mary Catherine Hermes-Lawson and husband Scott of Derby, KS; brother, Monsignor Eustace Hermes of Victoria; son in law, Robert Konvicka of Rockport; grandchildren, Theresa Thomison, Robert Konvicka, Jr, Timothy Rohan, Stefani Castillo and husband, Alex, Steven Hermes, Kristen Arterberry and husband, Jonathan, Sara Hermes and Trice Hermes; great grandchildren, Bobby Thomison, Jr., Michael Thomison, Blake Rohan, Alex Castillo, Jr., Sebastian Castillo, Xavier Castillo, Jax Arterberry, Kaia Arterberry, Adia Kile and Katelyn Hermes; and great-great grandson, Jayden Thomison.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Euna Brunet Hermes; daughter, Lois Faye Konvicka; sisters, Julia Krejci, Rose Newell and Margaret Hermes; brothers, Ervin, Macus, Carl and Al Hermes.

The family will receive guests from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel followed by a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Bishop Emeritus David E. Fellhauer officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Steven Hermes, Trice Hermes, Tim Rohan, Jonathan Arterberry, Alex Castillo, B.J. Thomison, and Michael Thomison. Honorary Pallbearers will be all his great grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Brookdale Assisted Living and Excel Home Health.
