

Fred L. “Jock” Ross, 84, of Victoria, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016. He was born on April 27, 1931 in Scotland to the late Ralph Ross and Florence Catherine Lang Ross. Jock served in the Scottish Units under The Royal British Army of Combat Support Arms and Services - REME (Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineer)-Corp of Royal Engineers during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a Manager with Farm Industrial Inc. for over 39 years. He was a member of the Church of Scotland. Survivors include daughter, Bonnie Ruth Ross, of Corpus Christi; sister, Betty (George) Simmons, of Scotland; friend, Carol Luxenberger, of Victoria; cousin, Roger Gebhardt, of Scotland; and his beloved dogs, Morgen and Zweite. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorene J. Ross; aunt, Frieda Gebhardt; and cousin, Allen Gebhardt.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016, 10:00 am at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Father Greg Korenek officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Thomas Kilgore, Frank Malina, Armando Barrera, Tim Janysek, Bill Lovel, Marlin Benson, Michael Hammack and Joe Keefe. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Stock, Noble Malik, Paul Tam and Robert Lovel. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.colonialfuneralhomevictoria.com.
