Gayle Franklin

She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church and had many talents, although the one most important talent was caring for her beloved sons, Jerry Lee and Walter Franklin. She enjoyed being a member of the VFW Auxiliary Unit 4146 and helping Veterans. She always put others ahead of herself and she will missed by all who loved her.

Gayle is survived by her sons, Jerry Lee and Walter Franklin; brothers, W.C. Abernathy, Kevin Dale Abernathy, Donald Wayne Abernathy, Frank John Abernathy; sisters, Elaine Glenn, Billie Joe Leger, Anna Stevens, and Tamara Oldstein.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven Franklin; husband, Walter E. Franklin; step-father, W.C. “Bill” Abernathy and sister, Eileen Abernathy.

The family will hold a visitation from 12:00 – 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Colonial Funeral Home followed at 1:00 pm by a VFW Auxiliary presentation provided by the VFW Auxiliary Unit 4146. Burial will be at 2:00 pm at Telferner Cemetery in Telferner.
