

George Cox, 83, of Victoria, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012, after a short illness. He was born October 26, 1928, in Brownwood to the late William A. and Lovie Johnson Cox. George served his country in both the United States Navy and Army. He was a real estate developer and a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Boyd Cox of Victoria; daughters, Suzanne Reedstrom and Melissa Macklin; grandsons, Richard and Kirk Reedstrom, all of Houston; sister, Laura Willey of Nederland.
A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 1 PM-3 PM at the Houston City Club, One City Club Drive, Houston, TX 77046 (713-701-7789).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be given to the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M for the George Cox Scholarship in Civil Engineering or to the 12th Man Foundation at Texas A&M. Gifts for the Corps Scholarship should be made payable to the Texas A&M Foundation and mailed to 401 George Bush Drive, College Station, Texas 77840. Gifts for the 12th Man should be made payable to the 12th Man Foundation and mailed to P.O. Box 2800, College Station, Texas 77841. Please note on your check “in memory of George Cox”.
