I have known George most of my life. One of my earliest memories of him is when He lived in Anderson, IN and was dating my sister Pat. We both had ice cream routes with carts that we peddled all over town. The company location where we picked up our ice cream in the morning and returned in the evening was a long way across town from our routes. We would race our carts across town to the routes and again back in the evening. I think the races were the high point of our working day.
Pat and George visited our home in Brown County, IN many times and they loved hiking in the surrounding forest.

I was a partner at Rosewood Funeral Chapels until I retired in May 2016. I had many funerals at Grace Lutheran Church the old and new church. Mr. Harrington was always there to help us in any way he could. He always had the church open and ready when we got there. He will definitely be missed . May God bring his blessings upon the entire family.

Mr. Harrington remembered my husband Senator Laas from when they worked together at Union Carbide in the 60’s. That was a half century ago, yet after all those years Mr. Harrington was kind enough to stop by to visit my husband twice in 2016-17 during trips to the Austin area. I only met him those two times before Senator passed away, but will never forget his kindness in looking up a fellow Carbider and spending some time with him in his last days. My deepest sympathy to all the family on your great loss.

Mr. Harrington was a compassionate and gentle man. We had never met him before but he was at my father's memorial service in August 1997. Later, he visited me in the hospital after I suffered a stroke at a very young age. He was a comforting presence; I have never forgotten his kindness. May he rest in God's presence. Grace and Peace to his family as they remember the man that he was and continue to carry on his example.

Blessings,

Ed Walker
