George J. Matula

George J. Matula, 83 of Victoria passed away on July 25, 2015. He was born in Wood Hi, TX on July 21, 1932 to James and Steffie Zak Matula. George retired as a supervisor from Alcorn Well Service after 35 years of service, was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Survivors include his sons, Dale Matula, Jimmy (Veronica) Matula; sister, Eleanora Conti all of Victoria; brother, Milton Matula of Wood Hi and two grandchildren, Lauren and Brandon Matula.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a sister, Lillie Mae Matula and a brother, Henry Matula.

Visitation will be 6-7 PM on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 with a rosary to be recited at 7 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 10 AM Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Inez with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council.

Pallbearers are Joe Conti, III, Jimmy Conti, Fred Matula, Edward Matula, Pat Matula, Pat Matula, Jr. and Bradley Matula.
