Geraldine Lovel

Geraldine Dohman Lovel, 82 of Victoria, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017. She was born on December 27, 1934 in Victoria to the late Jerome L. and Elsie Mueller Dohman. She was married to Ross H. Lovel on March 30, 1952 at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Gerry, as known to all her friends and family, was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in the women’s group Ruth Circle. Gerry enjoyed many hobbies including reading, gardening, cooking, polka and waltz dancing, and traveling with her husband, Ross, and their friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Gerry is survived by her sister, Lois Howland of LaQuinta, California; son, Kevin Lovel and wife, Janice of Victoria; daughter, Susan Urban and husband, Randy of Friendswood; son, Pat Lovel of San Leon; daughter, Jennifer Lovel of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Chad Lovel of Carrollton, Lauren Urban of Friendswood, Luke Urban of Fort Worth, Travis Urban and wife, Kelsey of Mill Valley, California; and great-grandchild, Skylar Lovel of Carrollton. Gerry is preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Elsie Dohman, husband, Ross Lovel and grandchildren, Jason Lovel and Leigh Urban.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Friday, January 13, 2017 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Barney Matocha officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family members.
