

Funeral services for Gloria Schneider Thiele, 72, of Temple, formerly of Victoria, will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Grace Lutheran Church in Victoria with Pastor Chris Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Thiele passed away July 12, 2014, at Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple. She was the daughter of Fred and Alice Wilson Schneider. She was born July 25, 1941, in Victoria, Texas. She married Charles Thiele on February 3, 1963, in Edna. They were blessed with two children, Melissa and Christopher.
Gloria enjoyed attending Fine Arts concerts, Victoria Symphony concerts, and the Bach Festival. She was an active, faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Victoria where she served as President of Grace Guild Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Sunday School Secretary, and was a member of the Board of Christian Education. She also attended Bible studies, sang in the Praise Team, and served as organist for many years. After moving to Garden Estates in Temple in 2011, she continued to accompany singing for worship services, and filled in occasionally as organist for Grace Lutheran Church in Killeen.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles, and nephews, Steven and Brian Catalina. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Hamilton and husband, Davis and daughter, Nicole of Harker Heights; son, Christopher Thiele and wife, Christina and sons, Jacob and Preston of Austin; sister, Beverly Catalina and husband, Milton of College Station; brother-in-law Louis Thiele and wife, Olivia of Kerrville; brother-in-law, Robert Thiele of Katy; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church.
Pallbearers will be Milton Catalina, Larry Cockrell , David Edge, Skipper Koetter, Eddie Miller, Chuck Mueller, Paul Teinert and Alvin Zieschang.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Huebner, Jim Kaiser, Gerald Snyder, Howard Spies, Jacob Thiele and Preston Thiele.
