Born on March 4, 1959, Kine was a lifelong resident of Victoria, Texas, and an active member of the community. He was a welder at trade. At just 21, he began working at DuPont/Invista, where he spent 35 years building not only a strong career but also lifelong friendships. He truly loved what he did.
Kine was a devoted husband, proud father, and cherished grandfather. His heart was always with his family. He spent countless days at the baseball fields, not only coaching and umpiring youth games, but cheering the loudest from the stands as his children and grandchildren played. Those moments were his greatest joy.
He had a deep love for restoring old trucks, hunting, and fishing, but perhaps what stood out most was his ability to fix just about anything. To his friends and family, he was the ultimate “MacGyver”.
Kine’s legacy will live on through the love he poured into his family. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Tina, and their three children: Lacie (Jason Barnett), Kine “Little Kine” (Emily Reyes), and Lindsey. He was a proud “Popo” to his grandchildren: Kamryn, Rylan, Jase, Ethan, Leilani, Londyn, and Owen, who will forever carry his memory with pride and love.
He also leaves behind his sister GiGi, brother James, and his parents, along with a wide circle of extended family and dear friends who will miss his presence, his stories, and his generous heart.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the incredible team at MD Anderson Cancer Center, especially Dr. Pavlos Msaouel, for their unwavering compassion and care throughout Kine’s journey.
