Harvey was an engineering coordinator at Valero refinery and retired after 30 years.
Harvey was known to be the funniest storyteller and loved to pull funny pranks on unsuspecting friends and family. From an early age, he had a love for music. In the 1960s his mother bought him his first guitar. He self-taught himself to play it and formed his first local band. In the 1970s he formed the Kicker Band with friends and co-workers in the corpus area. He played rhythm guitar and was the lead vocalist until 2000.
Harvey was an avid golfer, Hunter, and fisherman. He was a member of the Annaville Volunteer Fire Department. Through the years he enjoyed spending time with his daughter Cheryl listening to music and going to flea markets. After his retirement, he enjoyed his quiet time playing his guitar, fiddle, accordion, and harmonica. He and his wife Shirley enjoyed traveling with their friends and building yard art together. But most of all they loved sitting in their rockers watching their chocolate lab play in the sprinklers.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Stovall Bailey, and a daughter Cheryl Bailey both of Victoria.
