Helen Gail McCutcheon (Cranfill), 90, of Victoria, passed away Friday, November 7, 2025. She was born on October 25, 1935, to the late Tharon and Bernice Cranfill in Kermit, Texas. Helen graduated from Odessa High School, continued to Odessa College where she was the captain of the Senoritas de las Rosas, a marching Bull whip team. She completed her education at Southwest Texas University and graduated with her degree in Teaching. Then she married the love of her life Blevins Wayne McCutcheon, April 15, 1960.
Helen taught in Snyder, then moved to Victoria where she taught at Patti Welder, and then transferred to Crain Middle School where she continued until retirement. She loved to paint and sew. Her favorite thing to do was to be with her family; be it watching ball games, gymnastic meets, at the beach, or just hanging out at home.
Survivors include her son, Mitch McCutcheon of Victoria; daughter Holly McCutcheon Edwards (Mark)of Andrews; grandchildren, Samuel McCutcheon (Christine) of Cypress; Morgan Foreman (Hunter) of Victoria; Ariana Wade of San Angelo; Great grandchildren, Ethan Wade, Clayton Wade, Blake Wade, Taylor McCutcheon, Emma McCutcheon, and Clyde Foreman.
There will be visitation at Rosewood Funeral Chapel from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Funeral Services will be at 11am on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 3002 Miori Lane, with Rev. Stephen Carson officiating. Graveside will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery on the Cuero Hwy.
