

She was a homemaker and devoted wife to her husband, Johnnie, for 63 years before his death in 2011. She was also a loving mother to her children, nieces, nephews and all those who came in contact with her. She enjoyed the outdoors and working along with her husband in the garden, flower beds, raising cattle and bowling in her younger years. In her spare time she enjoyed doing crafts and quilting. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was very active in the Victoria Association of Citizens with Disabilities. She will be truly missed by everyone.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Simper Dixon and husband, Roger; son, James “Bimbo” Micek, both of Victoria; sisters, Josephine Hilscher of Victoria and Willie Mae Hermes of Hallettsville; brother, Victor Janak of Hallettsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie F. Micek, her parents and a brother, Edward Janak.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 pm, followed by a Rosary 7:00 pm Friday, December 12, 2014, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 13, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Roger Dixon, William Hermes, Herbert Hermes, Jr., Glenn Janak, Allan Hilscher and Joe Neskora.
The family would like to express special thanks Isela Vargas for her excellent care with Helen while she was at home. Sincere thanks to Twin Pines Nursing Home nurses, CNAs and staff for all their care; Hospice of South Texas nurse, Tara and all the other nurses and staff for their special care in Helen’s needs.
