

Henry Montez Chacon, age 89, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2014. He was born November 26, 1924 in Bloomington, TX to the late Lalo and Luz Montes Chacon and lived his whole life in Victoria. Henry was retired from Don Krueger Construction after 25 years. Then became self-employed as a commercial and residential painter where he had many loyal customers. Henry also proudly served in the National Guard.
He is survived by his daughters Rosemary Urrabazo of Victoria, Annie Chacon and husband, Enrique Gonzales of Pflugerville, Vanessa Morris and husband, Robert of Austin; son, Henry C. Chacon, Jr. of Victoria; sisters, Clemenica Sanchez of Victoria, Mary Ann Galletti of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Michael and wife, Misty Urrabazo, Jacob and wife, Rachel Urrabazo, Vanessa Kathryn Urrabazo, Anthony Chacon, Rhiannon Gonzales, Ethan Morris and Aiden Morris. Henry also leaves seven great-grandchildren; Kasey Hernandez, Carlito Hernandez, Raquel Felice Garcia, Cincere Urrabazo, Miavonnie Urrabazo, Jalianne Urrabazo and Jacob Ryan Urrabazo.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Felice Chacon, son, Joseph Rene Chacon; sister, Anita Garcia and brother, John Garcia.
Quick with a joke and even quicker with witty puns, he has deeply touched the lives of all his family members. He will be greatly missed and even more greatly celebrated.
His family would like to send their appreciation to all the nurses and staff at Twin Pines and to Hospice of South Texas.
A rosary will be recited at 7 PM on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. The funeral mass will be 9 AM on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Urrabazo, Jacob Urrabazo, Anthony Chacon, Ethan Morris, Carlito Hernandez and Martin Sanchez.
