

Henry Ben Karnowski, Sr., 84, of Victoria passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. He was born on May 8, 1931 in Inez, Texas to the late Anton Peter Karnowski and Caroline Frenzel Karnowski. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 59 years, Peggy Hoff Karnowski, his sister, Dolores Edna Karnowski and his half brother, James W. Karnowski.
He was a 1949 graduate of St. Joseph High School where he played football and was the team’s captain. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp and served several years in the U.S. Marine Reserves. He worked with his father and became a master electrician and later, the owner of Karnowski Electric Company which was established in 1944.
He is survived by; son, Henry B. Karnowski, Jr. and wife, Sylvia; grandchildren, Justin, Brent and Kendall, all of Victoria; daughter, Susan Karnowski of Austin; sisters Esther Liptia of Sugar Land and Gladys Stockbauer of Victoria.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church with full military honors under the direction of the Victoria Veterans Council.
Honorary pallbearers will be Justin, Brent and Kendall Karnowski.
