J. Desmond Forman, 78, passed away May 8, 2019. Desmond was born in Teague, TX and moved to Victoria in 1964 just in time to start first grade at Brownson Elementary School. He graduated in May 1958 in the first class from Victoria High School. He received his Bachelor degree from Texas A&M, Class of “65. He retired from Union Pacific R.R after a long career. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ. Desmond was a devout Christian and worker in his church. He loved to travel and work on projects with his H.S. Class of ’58. Desmond was an artist and loved glass etching.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Beatrice Glanton Forman, his mother and father-in-law, Leo R. and Faris Meyer Newman, his brother, Jesse Wayne Forman, his twin sons, Brett and Doye Forman and his brother-in-law Jack Chancey.
Desmond is survived by his wife, Frances N. Stephens Forman; his sister, Crystal Hayward (Earl), Dessie Chancey; his daughters, Renelle Romine (Nubbin Ginn) and Dawn Littlehat; his son, Jarrad D. Forman (Melissa); step-daughter, Carol Stephens Pomering (Ray); step-sons, Thomas Stephens (Cynthia), Charles Stephens and William Stephens. Grandchildren, Mason Forman (Megan), Brent Romine, Gabrielle Nolting (Kendall), Leah Forman and Morgan Forman; his step-grandchildren, Alexander Stephens (Laurie), Elizabeth Stephens, Brittany Marvin (Josh) and also 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Monday, May 13, 2019 from 5-7 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 2 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel with burial to immediately follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jarrad Forman, Mason Forman, Morgan Forman, Kendall Nolting, Jason Chancey, Ray Pomering, Michael Hanson and Alexander Stephens.
Honorary pallbearers are his granddaughters.
