

Jack Kincade Quinn, 91, of Victoria passed away Monday, July 4, 2016. He was born April 4, 1925 in Williston, Florida to the late William Thomas Quinn and Ida Mae Petersen Semprich. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, serving in the South Pacific Campaign on the island of Okinawa, and later in the Philippines. He attended Mississippi Southern in Hattisburg, Mississippi. Jack retired in 1988 after 25 years of service as an operator for Union Carbide, “B” Shift. He was a member of VFW Post 4146, the Marine Corps League and Grace Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Alyce Dyer Hartman of Victoria; nephews, Tommy Smith of Florida and Bob Waida of Canyon Lake; and his four-legged companion, Katy.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Audrey F. Briscoe Dyer Quinn; sister, Ida Mae Smith; brothers, Adrian Quinn and John “JB” Quinn; and son-in-law, Merlyn Hartman.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 pm Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Graveside services with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council will be Friday, July 8, 2016. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 am at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.
Pallbearers will be John Spears, Bob Waida, Marc Morgan, Bud Collora, Gladney Harrell and Stephen Fuhrman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Smith, Bob Cieloszyk, Bill Lambert, Stefani Spears, Nancy Witte and Adrienne Brandt.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Marine Corps League, the Dorothy O’Connor Pet Adoption Agency or a charity of the donor’s choice.
