

James Thomas Cole, 86, of Victoria passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015. He was born February 6, 1929 in Luxora, Arkansas, to the late William and Florence Hint Cole. He retired in 2004 at the age of 75, after being in the pest control business since 1955. The man his family and friends called "Big Jim," did not have a hobby, unless you call working and taking care of family a hobby, then you could say he enjoyed his hobby from the start, as a young man in the cotton fields of Arkansas, till the end of his time here on earth.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Dorothy McRae Cole; grandson, Paul A. Tagliabue III (Trey); brother, William Cole; and his sisters, Wilma Fields, Virgie Wallace, Geraldine Cox and Velma Brawley.
Survivors include his daughter, Kay Tagliabue (Paul); sons, James Cole (Melody) and Mike Cole (Allyson); grandchildren, Trent Tagliabue (Tina), Cody Cole (Vanessa), Tamara Cole and fiancé Guy Havenstein, Lauren Meaux (Dustin) and Colby Calcote (Dwayne, Jr.); great-grandchildren, Brylee and Kambree Tagliabue, Peyton Cole, Emmalynn Meaux, and Corbin Calcote; and two sisters, Pat Abrams (Doug) of Boca Raton, Florida and Marcia Loeser of Cape Canaveral, Florida along with many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels with Rev. Jack Bourland and Deacon Alfonso Moreno officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
