

James D. “Jimbo” Tomas, Sr. 74 of Victoria passed away June 22, 2015. He was born in Ganado, Texas April 27, 1941 to the late Joseph Walter and Agnes Louise Pratka Tomas. Jimbo was employed by H. B. Zachery for 33 years as a superintendent. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Julie Johnsen of Virginia; son, James D. Tomas, Jr. and wife Kristi of Victoria; stepdaughters, Arleen Brennan and husband Pat of Fannin, Deborah Jurica and Darlene Bachus of Victoria; sisters, Joan Johnson and husband Frank of Lolita, Barbara MacFarland and husband George of Hughes Springs, TX, Mary Lyn Venglar of Yoakum, Maxine Dvorak and husband Larry of Port Alto, TX, Katherine Dvorak of Vanderbilt, TX; brothers, C.J. “Sonny” Tomas and wife Mary Nell of Edna, Marcus Tomas and wife Sharon of Edna, Daniel “Hot Rod” Tomas and wife Brenda of Orange Grove, TX, Larry Tomas and wife Annette of Edna, TX.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Scott Tomas and brother, Leroy Tomas.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 6 to 8 PM at Colonial Funeral Home. On Friday, June 26, 2015, a rosary will be recited 1:30 PM followed by the Funeral Mass at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Interment will follow in LaSalle Cemetery in LaSalle, Texas.
If one so desires donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or The Catholic Daughters.
Pallbearers will be David Herman, Larry Baladez, Steve Harshaw, Glen Brett, Richard Johnson and T. J. Johnson.
