James Wade Henley
February 17, 1964 – March 6, 2018
Wade Henley, 54, passed away on March 6th, 2018. Born and raised in Texas, Wade graduated from Tascosa High School in Amarillo and studied Business Management at West Texas A&M University. After several years of learning the restaurant business, he opened his own hamburger stand, Wade’s Hasty Tasty, where he loved serving his loyal customers and friends.
In 1998, Wade sold his business and moved to Tucson, Arizona to be closer to his brother. In Tucson, he was promoted through the ranks at Southwest Ambulance for almost 10 years and built many close friendships in the First Responder community. More recently, Wade worked as a long-haul truck driver traveling all across the country.
Wade was known for his good-natured humor with a signature charm and for having a big heart. He was easy to make friends with, was always generous, and loved to cook for family and friends, especially if it involved a grill. One example of his selfless giving was his donating a kidney to his mother.
He is survived by his parents, Tom and Betty Henley of Mission Valley, Texas; brother, Colby (Karen) Henley of Tucson; and niece, Jenny (Marcos) Salazar of Tucson; and four great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, March 15th at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mission Valley. Burial will follow in Mission Valley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Herb Watts, Dale Fowler, Rex Mays, Ross Mansker, David Gisler and Tommy Matasek.
In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the church in Wade’s name.
