

James W. Rouse, Sr, 96, of Alvin and formerly of Victoria passed away on Monday, January 9, 2012. He was born on August 27, 1915 in Mathis, Texas to the late Albert Rouse and Iva Coleman Rouse. James was a heavy equipment operator for Fordyce Corporation. He was a member of Westside Church of Christ in Alvin and Blyth Road Church of Christ in Victoria. James proudly served his country during WW II in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his daughter, Barbara Van Ness, of Alvin; son, James W. Rouse, Jr, of Austin; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 13, 2012, 1 pm at Colonial Funeral Home with Mr. Will McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery with a Flag Folding presentation by the Victoria Veterans Council.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Baker, Bruce Hill, Dale Fowler, Glyn Jolly, Mark Sands and Brian Hasse.
