I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Janet's obituary.  I didn't know she had passed. I knew her along time ago when she worked at the bank in San Marcos. My wife also worked there and we became friends. I just don't believe someone as beautiful and full of life was gone. I don't know what happened to her but I'm very sorry and my condolences to all of her family...

I was so terribly sorry to hear of your mother's passing.  I have such wonderful memories of her as you and Taryn were growing up, Katie.  She always had such a sweet, calm presence about her.  She was always the first to offer help when needed.  We always had such fun with you girls, and she always had a smile.  Keep all those wonderful memories close, and she will always be with you.

Janet was an invaluable resource for me when I came to San Marcos for the bank's transition. She was always professional, courteous, cheerful and supportive of me during a very stressful time period. Our JOY CLASS  was blessed with having Janet among us.  I will always remember her sweet smile and soft voice.  I enjoyed all the game nights with her, she was always ready to play.  When we play this coming week, we will all be thinking of her.  Janet was always showed sincere appreciation for little thing you did for her. Will miss her sweet notes. Praying for her family at this time, may God bless each and every one of them.

It was such a blessing to be a JOY sister with Janet at Northside Baptist Church. I wish I had gotten to know her better, but I am thankful for the sweet memories I will always cherish. Janet's caring, sweet and loving presence in our class was a true blessing. Several of us ladies went on an outing to the Picker's Patch one Saturday. It was so much fun and a few days later I received a note in the mail from Janet, saying how much she enjoyed our time together. :) I am praying for her family. It will be hard to go on without her but the hope of being reunited with her again someday can make it a little easier. God bless you all.

Janet and I grew up on Haine Drive in Harlingen Texas, we were flooded out of our house right down the block from hers during Hurricane Beulah in 1967. Janet, Debbie Witcher, and I were in the same classes at Travis Elementary from third grade until 6th grade. Debbie and I were born a day apart, in May. I wonder if Janet ever told anyone about the birthday party we threw in the girl's bathroom in the 5th or 6th grade during lunch. We were caught by Mrs. England, scolded and sent out to the playground. What an innocent childhood! And now both Janet and Debbie are gone. I won't forget them. I am sorry for your loss.

May God watch over her family. I will always remember her smiling face. We went to High School together, then I got a job at a back in San Marcos and to my
Pleasant surprise my old friend from High School was there too. Sweet Janet will be missed.

Lindsey, Katie, & Heather, I am so sorry for your loss. Janet was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside and she was a kind, thoughtful person. Lindsey, I'll always remember Amanda coming home from spending the night at your house and all she could talk about was the delicious sweets that your mom made. I always looked up to Janet immensely growing up. She was one of the most loving, nurturing, and also funny souls I knew.  In addition to her kindness, I think we can all agree Janet was beautiful and had great hair. Idid not have great hair, and was always jealous about whatever secrets she had imparted on her daughters so that when we took school pictures they looked glamorous while I just tried to get the tangles out of my own hair.  But my day finally came when I went to the Davis house to get ready for senior prom.  I asked how I should do my hair for the dance, and instead Janet and Lindsey did it for me.  With a few twirls of a curling iron and the soft placement of a few bobby pins, my childhood hair fantasies of looking even half as put together as Janet and the Davis girls became reality. I'll miss her.

I met Janet one and a half years ago at our Joy class.  She was one of the first sweet ladies that I met. On our very first time to meet, she told me a story  about how I could always remember her name. It was a story about her and her dad. It was true, I always remembered her name after that.  I also shared a few game nights with Janet and we had quite a few laughs. She was always assuring us she knew how to play dominos. After Sunday School class she always rode the elevator and was always telling us to grab the bar and hold on. Janet always had a sweet or kind word and was always smiling.  I am going to miss seeing that sweet face each week but I know that one day I'll  see her again and  we'll live forever with Jesus .  She loved her daughters and I know they will miss her dearly.  I am so sorry for your loss and praying God will comfort you in the days ahead.

Janet was my first "best friend." We met when we were 7. She was skinny, suntanned, could swing on the monkey bars better than anyone in our class, and was always up for an adventure. She jumped off our roof with a parachute tied to her hands and feet. We rode our bicycles all the way to "Dead Man's Bluff" and walked across town to get to our Girl Scouts meeting. She introduced me to John Denver's music. She was a bright, funny, shining girl, and will always have a place in my heart. I love you Karen and David and Mrs. Sparks.

Prayers and sympathy to all of Janet's family.  I enjoyed seeing Janet (and some or all of the girls) at the San Marcos Public Library.  She always had a kind word and a smile to share.  She so enjoyed being a mother and a homemaker.  Let the good memories keep all of you close.

I will always remember Janet for her big smile, positive attitude, and kindness. Heaven has another angel and I'm  rejoicing that one day we will be able to see her again. :)

What a beautiful photo album. Janet was such a sweet and beautiful mom! I am glad I got to know her better at Heather's swim team practices and Diamond Line activities. She will be remembered fondly. You girls lean on each other now, and even more so in the future. I wish we could get to Victoria tomorrow. Janet and all of you will be in my prayers and thoughts tomorrow and in the future. May God wrap his arms around you all through this hard time, and all your lives. What a gift she left the world with her three beautiful daughters.

Joyful Janet. That's the adjective I use to describe the sweetest soul I've ever known. Nothing could diminish her joy; all who knew her were benefactors of her love. Janet's life was an object lesson of 1 Cor. 10:13, which she quoted often. She had an understanding that reguardless of circumstances God would not permit her to be tempted more than she could resist. Janet resisted the temptation to be bitter, unforgiving, and self absorbed. She was totally devoted to her family and always put them first. There's no doubt she has now been reunited with all family and friends that preceded her. Blessings to Merle, David, Karen, Lindsay, Catherine, Heather, and all family and friends who loved Janet. Trust that she is more alive than ever. She is free of a failing body and rejoicing before the throne of the Almighty.

It was always such fun spending time with Janet, whether we were working on something for Diamond Line, navigating the subways of New York or just having lunch. We never ran out of topics to discuss! I'll dearly miss her sense of humor and adventuress spirit!

Janet was such a sweet loving girl that I met in 1988 when I moved to San Marcos and began work at First National Bank.   She made me welcome and was such an example .  she will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her.

I'm sorry for the loss of your beautiful mother Davis girls. She was a sweet soul who welcomed me to the neighborhood when I was a young mother. When my son Will started school she would talk to him about the books he was reading, and what kind of bugs he liked. Some days he would come home from school to find a locust or beetle in a baggie on the door and say, "Mrs. Davis came by!"

Janet was my first home-taught yoga pupil. This was after her brain injury and she was my best and most dedicated pupil. She learned so quickly despite her disability and had remarkable " body memory". I taught her for two years and loved every minute. I miss her so much. My heart goes out to you girls and her family.

Janet was an amazing women and a wonderful mom. She was so kind, sweet and loving. She loved you girls so very much, you were her pride and joy. My prayers for you and your family.

What a beautiful woman. Always had smiles and good words to say. She was definitely an angel here on earth and passed that on to her beautiful daughters. Gods blessings to all the family.

I'll miss Janet Davis. She always treated me as another daughter when I spent time with the Davis family. One of my strongest memories of her is when she made an amazing key lime cheesecake and brought it when I came with the family to the beach in the RV. She left 3 of the strongest, sweetest women, her daughters, in her wake to continue filling this world with love and kindness. I only hope they'll also make cheesecakes!

Dear Heather, I didn't know your mother but I know her daughter, you. You are so kind, caring, smart, fun, compassionate, hard working and to raise a daughter with so many wonderful characteristics I  would think she would have those same character traits. She sounded like a remarkable lady just like you are. Hugs and happy memories and prayers.

Janet and I worked with VBS at First Baptist Church in San Marcos many summers.  We were in charge of creating art projects for the kids and Janet was always so creative.  I loved her,  she was the best!  Kind, dependable and of course, beautiful inside and out.  I am so very sorry but know she is in the hands of our heavenly Father. Janet was such a kind person.   I enjoyed getting to know her and seeing her as our girls' lives meshed through school and their activities. She was always smiling and friendly. Even after the girls grew up, she would still take the time to cut out any article from the newspaper about my family and mail it to me with a personal note.  She was a good woman and I will miss her.

I am so sorry for your loss. I never had the pleasure of meeting your mom, but I know how special and wonderful she was because of the daughter she raised and the woman you have become.  Only a mother's love, care, and devotion as great as Janet's could grow and nurture someone like you. You have so many memories of the time you two spent together, and I hope with time, those memories will bring some peace to you.

Janet was my mentor teacher my first year at Bowie. She was one of the kindest, most positive people I have ever known.  I am so sad to hear of her passing and I am truely sorry for your loss.

Your mother was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met! She was always so kind, beautiful, and generous. She will be greatly missed and the world is a sadder place without her. I am so sorry for your loss and lots of prayers for your family.

My heart was crushed when I heard of your sweet mommas passing!  Your mom was a dear friend and someone I have always admired. She was what I consider one of my "forever friends".   She was to me,  a ray of sunshine on a bad day, a helping hand that never got tired, a substitute mom that never minded my extra kids and a sounding board when I needed an ear to listen.  She was special indeed. I feel very blessed to have known her. I will miss the texts she sends just checking on me. I will miss her cards, especially when I get two in the same day! I will miss her indeed but I know I will see her smiling face again.

So sorry to hear of Janet's passing. Just happened to stumble on this on Facebook. Sending prayers for her family. I was one of Janet's band directors in Harlingen. She was one of our regular babysitters. We loved her personality and was very good with our children. Glad to hear she was a teacher. I'm sure she was a natural and will be missed by all of her students.
